Personality: "I was just--" "Being careful. The same being careful that led to you being refused entry to the Army Rangers, the FBI, Naval Intelligence - paranoid, panic-prone, unstable."
On the surface, Farah seems pretty straightforward: a badass in a cool jacket. A no-nonsense guardian who is not down to lose a fight. Her speech is usually direct, and she appears well-trained, competent and capable. She is a very protective, driven individual, one who has had a lot of training in her field. On top of that, Farah is intelligent and observant, with what is arguably a photographic memory. She's driven to protect her wards and her chosen family, to any and all ends. She has all the components of being a big goddamned hero, a paragon of protection. Not that she isn't, mind you.
Those aren't inaccurate statements as much as they are only part of the entire picture.
Something holds her back a lot of the time, however, and that something is a lot of self-doubts combined with an anxiety disorder, panic attacks, paranoia, and self-depreciation. When she is able to overcome these self-imposed blocks, Farah becomes a bona fide action hero. It's pretty amazing.
Farah is difficult when it comes to new experiences. New experiences, in her experience (haha) within the last year or so have been very dangerous and very strange, and this is after being the bodyguard of a time-traveler (not that she knew this) and his family. Yet she recognizes that her own upbringing did not allow for much exposure to what would have been deemed the 'standard' experiences for someone her age, so while she'll power on with hesitance she will, eventually, power on. She has nothing against doing new things, but she likes to plan. A lot. And research even more before embarking on new experiences.
In that vein, she is very conscientious. Farah is definitely a planner as opposed to someone who does things by the seat of their pants. Research is an invaluable tool in Farah's arsenal, coupled with planning, planning, planning. The problem with this is that fate and chance intertwined; people's independent and individual reactions are difficult to plan for, considering most folks don't know what they'd do exactly if thrust into an unfamiliar situation. Plus there's the random uniqueness of the universe at work, which is bound to throw something completely freaking whacky into the mix. To say that Farah is not a fan of spontaneity is probably an understatement, but she likes what is safe and what is safe is often what is familiar.
When it comes to extroversion, however, Farah is even more difficult to pin down. She's not avoidant, exactly, of socializing she's just...not used to it outside of specific parameters. Meeting Dirk, Todd, and Amanda opened her up to more chances to be a social person, and she mostly takes this in stride. There's not a lot of room to do otherwise, really. Farah, like Dirk, is someone whose personal experiences have so widely varied from the norm of someone her age that she's extremely sensitive to opening herself up to negative comments or ridicule about said experiences. She internalizes the negative quickly and is more hesitant to accept the positive that people tell her about herself. She's not self-confident enough to be easily labeled as an extrovert but is much too active and hands-on with situations to fall straight into the introvert category. She is an ambivert, falling somewhere in the middle; Farah can be fine in social situations but also needs time to herself to recharge and regroup.
Farah's agreeableness depends a lot on the situation at hand. If you're pointing a gun at her or one of her friends? Definitely not agreeable to it. If you're helping said friends, however, she's much more agreeable - none of which is unreasonable, really. By nature though, Farah is a generally agreeable person. She's more empathetic than sympathetic, which comes about as a result of her capabilities when it comes to evaluating the behavior and personalities of others. When Todd apologizes for not letting her in the night she was ambushed in his apartment building, Farah tells him that she understands why he didn't open the door, and doesn't hold it against him at all. Working with a teenager through her job plus dealing with her own neuroses have allowed Farah to be very understanding about the limitations that others impose upon themselves.

Now we've gotten to the 'fun' part of her personality: Farah's neuroses. She definitely shows signs of rather well-controlled obsessive-compulsive disorder, with the necessity for repetitive actions only popping up when she's under high and unusual amounts of stress. She has invasive thoughts about her failures and inabilities to protect others that she tends to vocalize in the moment, which can make her seem a bit on the unhinged side once she's under stress and having a panic attack. She is definitely a bit paranoid, but that has served her well all things considered.
Once Farah starts embracing the parts of her that label her a freak or a weirdo she is nigh unstoppable. That embracing is a process, however, not an event, and there are times when she struggles with not being the person she was expected to be.
Powers/Abilities: Since Farah went through training for Naval Intelligence, Army Rangers and the FBI, Farah's got a pretty extensive list of skills. She's is well-versed and familiar with the following:

Incentives: What Farah is most concerned about is a.) the safety of the Spring family, who are all still in stasis and b.) being able to protect Dirk and everyone else who is her chosen family. Obviously, Dirk is awake and the Orbiters may or may not be able to protect him from the machinations of the universe, but Farah will accept anything from 'magical powers' to prophetic dreams if it means she can keep her friends and loved ones safe.
